We'll meet in Lima, Peru to begin our intensive film and expedition workshops for the first four days of being in country. Throughout this time you'll have the opportunity to capture the feel of life in Lima and stories of the British Fire Brigade Victoria 8 or stories within Villa Maria. We will then travel from Lima to Cusco to continue the workshops with an emphasis on expedition training that will involve basic medical training, hints, and tips for life on expeditions. You'll have the opportunity to work on new stories that affect the people of Cusco: Mountain Rescue, Local life, Non-Governmental Organizations, and local issues.
We will leave the mountains and descend down to the Amazon Jungle into the Manu Biosphere Reserve which is located in the Madre de Dios Region. On arrival, we will start to immerse ourselves into Jungle living and the sights and sounds of the Amazon. We will have the company of our indigenous guides to teach us not only how to survive but thrive in this environment. From river crossings, flora and fauna recognition, campsite selection, water purification, fire-starting techniques to cooking, there will be plenty of opportunities to develop your filmmaking techniques in a new environment with new stories.
We will make our way back to Cusco and then trek two days to Machu Picchu for extra scenic footage and reflection on the trip. We'll return to Cusco by train and celebrate the trip and all that was learned.
