This summer, Prelude Films summited Mount Kilimanjaro as part of a documentary project to tell the story of a group of non-profits and outdoor industry partners who banded together to raise support for veterans.
The culmination of this endeavor is a 45-minute documentary called 'The Path to Uhuru'. It is currently in the festival circuit.
Project Description
A group of veterans embark on a challenging climb up Mount Kilimanjaro. As they push their bodies to the brink, they also confront the emotional and mental wounds from years of serving in intense combat zones and trying to reintegrate into society. Every step is a physical and emotional struggle, testing their resilience and determination until they finally reach the summit. By sharing their journey, they shine a light on several non-profit organizations that have played a crucial role in aiding their healing process. And perhaps, by doing so, they can reach out to others who may also be in need of support.
